5 Best Ways to store Crochet Hook Organisers’

Let’s accept it organising knitting needles and crochet hooks are difficult. Having a large assortment of needles and hooks are great to work on multitude of projects, but storage can be a little tricky. After all, where exactly is a good place for keeping pointy little sticks that will keep you and your loved ones safe from any mishaps?

We all know that organising a craft room can be very difficult and challenging but it doesn’t have to be a nightmare. From old paint cans to empty pretzel containers, you'd be surprised how many inexpensive and practical ways there are to organize your knitting needles, whether they're straight, circular or double-pointed needles.

If you’re not a DIY Girl like me then the safest bet is to for crochet hook organisers, needle cases or needle binders. Some people prefer to keep them in their original cases while others find creative ways to custom make their own personalised organisers using things in and around the house.

Old paint cans roll up jewellery case, fabric needle rolls, quilted roll up holder, duffel bag pockets, envelopes, empty crystal light containers, hanging organizers with sewn pockets, cookie tins, pringle cans, Ziplock Bags, cardboard tubes from paper towel rolls and what not. The list is endless.

You can go wild with your imagination in exploring the various possibilities in terms of storage solutions options for needles and hooks.

  1. For quite some time I have used two-gallon Ziplock storage bags. All needles of one size fit in one bag, circular, straight and double points. I just mark the bag with the size, stack them on a shelf and there they are. If you're working on a project, the yarn and pattern usually fit inside this bag too.

  2. My friend has a large vase and a painted pot in her craft room kept on a sleek white shelf. The knitting needles are in her vase and the crochet hooks in the smaller flowerpot.

  3. I was recently gifted a Crochet Hook Organiser from Yazzii. It’s a total solution for all your crochet hooks, smaller accessories, patterns, some area to store some threads as well. There are ample slots for your collection of crochet hooks and there is a fabric flap that covers your hooks for extra protection.

4. You can carry your needles in style with a quilted roll style organiser from Yazzii. It has 12 pockets for larger needles and 8 for shorter needles and crochet hooks. The bag also has 2 additional see-through pockets for circular needles or other accessories. The larger needles are protected with a fabric flap. Three-way fold with the Velcro closure.

5· Ergonomic Crochet Hook Organiser is also a good option. This organizer is designed specifically to store Ergonomic Crotchet Hooks. It has 3 zippered see-through pockets for your other craft notions e.g. stitch markers, threads, scissors etc. and will hold 36 larger crochet hooks and at least 12 regular size crochet hooks. The bag closes with a centre zipper and has a handle for your convenience. Crochet hooks are an indispensable tool and now you can carry them with you in a secure, stylish bag.

Honestly it doesn’t matter if you use cookie tins, pringle cans, plastic page protectors, spool rack, binders, or needle cases. It’s all about personal preferences and choices.

I am happy to have my fabric cases with see through panels and can’t do with them ….
